Social Craft
Social Craft was a collaborative and pedagogical project, created in partnership with artists Cassie Thornton and Cara Levine, and brought to life by a class of undergraduate students at the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology in Bangalore, India. We tasked ourselves with the construction of a home together on the roof of a newly opened school building. We employed experts on the matter, such a mother, a brick mason, a yogi and a real estate agent to explore physical and immaterial qualities of home making. We cooked curries, braided palm leaves and learned some simple natural building techniques as research methods for the creative exploration of the home.
