Tassajara Gate

For this project, I worked as project organizer and scribe to master builder and ordained Zen priest Paul Discoe. Around 15 individuals were selected to participate in the short-term wood working apprenticeship that culminated in the reconstruction of the ceremonial entrance gate to the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center. The prefabrication of the majority of the large members of the gate were cut out at the Joinery Structures workshops is west Oakland and were transported to the site for assembly during the spring work period.
