Make Shift

Make - Shift is an exploration into intuitive construction. This work blends and mixes techniques, using found objects such as cement blocks, wooden palettes and corrugated metal sheets juxtaposed with domestic furnishings such as curtains, chairs and lamps. The sculpture is a hybrid of the child’s fort and the makeshift buildings of favelas. I was interested in ideas of permission, projection and constructive imaginaries.
